NOVEMBER
AND DECEMBER KINDERGARTEN NEWS
We have a very busy couple of months coming up. I will try to tell you dates and times
now so you can mark your calendars.
Friday, November 11th-NO SCHOOL; VETERAN’S DAY.
The week of November 28th through December 2nd,
Kindergartners and 8th graders will prepare the morning
assemblies. We will be reading the
book “How to Loose Your Friends”. If you haven’t had a chance to
attend one of our morning meetings, you should try. (8:20-8:40 each morning except
Wednesdays.)
Wednesday, November 23rd-Kindergarten and PreK thanksgiving feast. Your child may come to school dressed
like a Pilgrim or an Indian. Each
child should bring a finger food to share with their class. Suggestions are:
Fruit
Muffins
Popcorn
Corn
bread
Sausage
Cheese
Crackers
Carrot
sticks
Celery
Be creative!! The
kids enjoy just about anything!!
On this day we will dismiss at 1:30 for Thanksgiving
vacation. Classes resume Monday,
November 28th.
December 2nd-SCHOOL WILL DISMISS AT 1:00 FOR A
TEACHER INSERVICE
Students and Mrs. Wood have been
practicing very hard on their songs for the Christmas Program to be held
Monday, December 19th at 7:00 at St. Anthony’s Church. There will be a dress rehearsal on
Monday, Dec 19th at 1:00 at school. You, your family, grandparents, etc are
invited to attend the dress rehearsal.
Kindergarten and 8th
grade Christmas project: Tuesday,
December 13th. We will
need a lot of drivers for this day.
We ask that no younger siblings attend on this day because we will need
all of your help with the students.
STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO WEAR CHRISTMAS TOPS,
OR RED AND/OR GREEN TOPS. WE ALSO
ENCOURAGE ANY TYPE OF CHRISTMAS HATS!
WE’LL BE FESTIVE! THEY
MAY ALSO WEAR JEANS. Plans are
tentative as we are not sure about lunch.
This is the tentative schedule of the day:
10:45 we will leave school and
travel to the Quincy Museum for their Christmas tour, The Civil War. 11:00-12:00 We have been asked by the Quincy
Museum to decorate one of their trees for the Christmas tour. Kindergartners and 8th
graders have been very busy making these decorations. If you take a tour of the Museum this
holiday season, be sure to look for our treel
12:00-1:00 We
will eat lunch, either at Cassano’s or back to
school. (Not sure which one will
work for us yet. I’ll let you
know for sure.)
1:00-2:00 The Kindergartners and
8th graders will shop at Walmart to
purchase items for Quanada. Quanada
provides us with a list of needs for the holiday season. Each child will be asked to donate an
amount of money toward this project.
We will let you know later how much. This project is in place of a gift
exchange between K & 8.
2:00-2:30 We will deliver our purchased
items to Quanada, then return to school. Our goal of this project is to give the
students an appreciation of the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of
helping others.
Tuesday, December 20th-KINDERGARTEN
CLASS CHRISTMAS PARTY provided by our room parents. The party will be held in the morning
due to our 1:30 dismissal.
CHRISTMAS VACATION-DECEMBER 21ST
THROUGH JANUARY 3RD.
