EFFECTS OF POSSIBLE QUINCY PUBLIC SCHOOLS STRIKE

posted Jan 9, 2017, 6:42 AM by Gary Clayton
If you are up on local news, you are aware that the Quincy Public School teachers and staff may go out on strike due to lack of an approved contract.  If negotiations between the board and the teachers’ union are unsuccessful, the teachers will strike this month, so the Quincy Public Schools will not be in session during their strike.  If that happens, St. Dominic School and the other Quincy Catholic Schools will continue to be in session as scheduled.  However, there will be no busing for our students, and our crossing guard will not be present.  Parents will need to arrange for transportation to and from school.  Our Before and After School Program is an option for families who cannot make the necessary arrangements.  Other services provided by QPS will not take place during that time, as well, including Speech and Title I reading and math instruction.
