During October and November, the QCES teachers began working together on creating a common science curriculum.  The teachers from Blessed Sacrament, St. Francis, St. Dominic, and St. Peter participated in half-day meetings with their grade level colleagues.  The teachers from each school shared what is currently being taught and discussed the Next Generation Science Standards. At the conclusion of each session, the grade level teams collaboratively agreed on what science units all four schools will teach.  Through this work, the teachers were not only able to create horizontal alignment for the four schools at each grade but also develop collaborative relationships.
