THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE

posted Nov 9, 2015, 1:18 PM by Gary Clayton

We are holding a food drive during the next two weeks, November 9-21, to collect much needed food for local food pantries.  Our goal is for every student to bring in at least 3 non-perishable food items.  Every class that meets this goal will have a non-dress code day on the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week.  The class that brings in the most food per capita will also get to choose a special activity for their class, such as an extra recess, electronics time, or game time.

Food items will be collected in each classroom.  Any type of non-perishable foods are welcome and greatly appreciated.  The food pantries are particularly in need of food items that can be used for meals:  soups, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter and jelly, tuna, pastas and sauces, cereals, etc.

We encourage everyone to participate in this service project for our community.  What so ever we do for the least of my people, that you do unto me. – Matthew 25:40
